I am a PhD candidate in philosophy and an MA student in Greek at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, advised by Victor Caston. My other committee members include: Sara Ahbel-Rappe, Daniel Devereux, Mariska Leunissen, and Tad Schmaltz. Before Michigan, I studied at Jilin University, University of Alberta, and University of Virginia. In Fall 2022 and Spring 2023, I visited Stanford University and Yale University respectively, working primarily with Alan Code and David Charles. You can see my CV here.
I have broad interests in history of philosophy (ancient Greek and Roman philosophy, ancient Chinese philosophy, early modern philosophy, and early analytic philosophy) and contemporary philosophy (metaphysics, philosophy of mind, moral psychology, and social philosophy). I am currently writing a dissertation on Aristotle’s theory of the boundaries of processes and its application to his physics and psychology. Building on my dissertation, I am developing an Aristotelian theory of telic boundaries, which covers boundaries in both natural and social realms. I also have research projects on the Stoics, Descartes, and Zhuangzi; for further detail, see my Research page. |
